Born in Massachusetts and raised in Northern California, Cynthia’s design career started in residential design – an approach that still influences her design process. The concept of creating not just livable, but uplifting spaces have always been at the core of her process. A fortuitous moment came when a former design school classmate invited her to visit him in Los Angeles, where he was working at Hirsch Bedner. The subsequent offer to join the premier hospitality design firm and move to Los Angeles was irresistible. It was here that Cynthia would meet Helen, form their life long friendship, later leading to their great design partnership.

Within the collaboration of Forchielli Glynn, Cynthia dives into the planning process, collaborating with the Client, Brand, and Architect. By thinking outside traditional solutions and approaching the project from different angles, she is uniquely able to visualize how people might transition through and inhabit spaces. Working onsite to resolve construction issues that are inevitable during both new and renovation constructions processes, she insures the project never loses its vision. Architectural details, finishes, and furnishings, are thoughtfully documented and coordinated with all disciplines.

And on to the finishing details that the guest will see, Cynthia works together with the team to conceptualize, source and customize the furnishings, fabrics, carpets, lighting, and art to bring to life the vision for the project. Following through, from construction to installation, and beyond, the firm is known as thorough, dedicated, and flexible.
