“Many of our counterparts are much larger companies, but Forchielli Glynn was always conceived as a small company, and we have always embraced that aspect. We never really wanted to be larger than we are right now. Providing that close personal service and also being involved with all aspects of the project is exactly how we like to work. The outcome at the end of a project allows us to give people a unique experience in a beautiful place.”

Los Angeles born, Helen was introduced to the interior design world when a friend of the family handed over a large pile of back-dated issues of Architectural Digest magazine. “I was 11 or 12 and instantly intrigued by the limitless creativity and glamour within the pages. There was never any question about what to study in college. After finishing one of the few California accredited courses in interior design, at that time, at Cal State Long Beach, I was invited to help out on a project at Hirsch-Bedner Assoc. I came as a temp for a couple weeks and stayed five years. It was at HBA that I learned the complex process of hotel interior design. From my experience at HBA, I was certain I wanted to remain working in hotel design.” It was also here that Helen met future partner in design, Cynthia.

From the experience of working with Cynthia for many years in several design offices, the partners found they complimented each other’s strengths. Helen loves to dig into the details and the process of finding how best to get the work done and how to resolve project details. How a project is detailed says so much about the style and integrity of the project. “We pride ourselves on our perfected methodology for providing documentation to, and coordinating architectural information with the other project consultants”.
